POST PRODUCTION
EDIT: All footage is then moved into the post production edit and a rough cut is produced. Normally the rough cut goes through two rounds of revisions prior to the final cut being produced. Mixed Media Monster provides the option for you to sit in on the edit, but we do not always recommend it. If we have done a good job in pre-production, then our producer/director will be able to move through post production more quickly to achieve the edit that you are looking for.
VISUAL EFFECTS: Once the final cut of the edit is ready, the cut is moved into our visual effects department. This is when we add the magic to the live action scenes or enhance the work we have done on the 2D and 3D animation scenes. This portion of the project includes visual effects creation, matte painting, animating, and compositing.
COLOR FINISHING AND GRADING: This is one of the final stages of the post-production process. We color finish and fine tune the look and feel of the piece.
SOUND DESIGN: Once the final cut has been signed off on, we then move to the final stage of post-production. This is when we design the sound. The sound design process includes ADR, music selection, music composition, and final sound mix. Depending on the scope of the project, this can range from a very simple process, to a very complex and involved process.

We now begin purchasing or creating props that we will use to decorate the location and create the world that we want. Depeding on the location, this can be done physically or digitally. For example, if we are filming at a house in the suburbs, we may want to decorate it a certain way to create a certain style. If, on the other hand, we are shooting in the studio in front of the green screen, then we would create that scene digitally.
SET DESIGN & ART DIRECTION
Once all phases of pre-production are finished, detailed budgets and schedules are put together for the remainder of the project. This includes locking locations and any additional production crew required.
PRODUCTION SCHEDULING & BUDGETING
Once the script is locked, final concept art and storyboards will begin. These usually require two rounds of revision. Storyboards are hand drawn in either black and white or color depending on the project. All concept art is finalized prior to going into production.
STORYBOARDING
We begin looking at location options based on the requirements of the script and concept art. These locations can either be rented as field production locations, or re-recreated in studio depending on budgets and location availability. If the locations are digital or animated, we begin creating them at this time. Location images or style frames, whether live action or animated will be provided to you for review and input. If we are choosing a live action location, then an in-person scout/pre-visualization meeting will be done at the preferred locations.
LOCATION SCOUTING
Many times, casting can be done in tandem with scripting, but sometimes is done afterwards. Evolve Media utilizes a unique online system for the initial phase of casting. We also hire some of the top casting directors in the country to provide us with talent. Based on the criteria established during the Concept Refinement phase, we will provide you with the top talent options. You can review the first round of auditions online and make your top selects. After you have done this, we will hold audition call backs. You can attend these call backs in person or you can review them online. Once call backs are completed, the final talent selection is made.
CASTING
After the brainstorm session, the Evolve Media team regroups at our studios and everyone is licensed with the task of generating concepts based on what was learned in the brainstorm session. Each person develops a minimum of one concept, which includes art and high level story arc for the rest of the team to review.
Once the concepts have been developed, the Evolve team has an internal pitch session in which each member pitches their concept to the group. With the help of the lead producer, the team will narrow down the concepts to the top selects. Once the top selects are made they are then refined to be presented to you, the client.
CONCEPT
Mixed Media Monster starts the process by understanding your vision. Our team of producers and creatives meet with your team for a brainstorm session. This is a session in which you tell us everything you can about your story. Through a series of questions, the Evolve team dives deep into your story to better understand your market and the best approach to take.
